Scope

This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use the Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

Account and profile

We collect information you provide when you register or use the Service, such as name, email address, login credentials, and profile fields you choose to submit (for example employment history, skills, education, and preferences).

Documents and content you upload

We process files and text you provide, such as resumes, cover letters, and other documents you attach to your account or to specific opportunities.

Job opportunities and usage data

We store information about job postings and your interactions with them (for example saved or pipeline status), and technical data related to your use of the Service (such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and pages or features used), as typical for web applications and security logging.

Communications

If you contact us, we retain the content of those messages and our responses as needed to assist you.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate users and maintain accounts
  • Run job discovery and related features you request
  • Generate or assist with tailored documents when you use those features
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We do not sell your personal information.

AI and third-party services

Artificial intelligence

Some features use third-party AI services (for example to help populate a profile from a resume or to customize documents). When you use those features, relevant portions of your content may be sent to the AI provider’s systems for processing. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and policies.

Job data providers

Job listings and related metadata may be obtained from external APIs or partners (for example job search or labor market data providers). We use that data to show opportunities within the Service; we do not control employers’ or third-party sites’ own privacy practices.

Hosting and infrastructure

The Service runs on servers and services provided by our hosting and technology vendors, who process data on our behalf as needed to operate the site.

We select subprocessors and integrations we believe are appropriate for the Service; a current list may be provided on request or on a dedicated subprocessors page if we maintain one.

Legal bases (if applicable)

If the law in your region requires a “legal basis” (for example GDPR), we rely on: performing our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service (balanced against your rights); and compliance with law, as applicable. Where consent is required (for example certain cookies or optional processing), we will ask for it separately.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function (for example session and security cookies). If we use optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will describe them in a cookie notice or settings UI where required by law.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. You may be able to delete certain data from your account; some records may be retained in backups or logs for a limited time. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained without time limit.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@applicationgenie.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

International transfers

If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers or vendors are located, your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age group.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service.
